HOW TO ENROL:
If you are interested in any of our after school or before school classes, then please feel free to pop into the class at any time to speak to the Instructors. There is nothing to do other than to fill in a medical and emergency contact form. Leaflets with reply slips are generally available from the school offices.
Certain schools may have a waiting list in place, if so then the Instructors will inform you of availability or where else is available nearby until a space comes up.
Alternatively please send us a message using the contact form on this website and the relevant Instructor will get back to you.
If your class enquiry is regarding a Community Centre, Sports Hall, Village hall or similar, then again please feel free to pop along anytime.
BEGINNERS:
New Students are free to watch the first session or join in straight away. Parents are free to stay and watch at most classes, but due to Safeguarding policies, some schools no longer allow this. If your child is young and for whatever reason does not enjoy their lesson, backs out at the last minute or suddenly becomes all shy, then we suggest giving it another few months and trying again. Many children come along all excited but then get all shy at the last minute. This is perfectly normal, and it sometimes takes a few attempts to get them up and involved. Our professional and friendly Instructors will encourage as much as we can.
Send us a message on our contact page, or give us a ring and we will get back to you soon. Contact us here……..

MEMBERSHIP & UNIFORM:
If you or your child has now completed four or five lessons, than it is now time to become an official member.
WHY DO I NEED TO BECOME A MEMBER?
Everyone needs a membership and to be registered and insured through our governing body F.E.K.O. It acts like a member to member insurance incase anyone causes or sustains injury or harm. You cannot continue your training without it. A membership entitles you to train within any SAMA class or location (availability depending), and is transferable across the South East if ever a family moves to another location within SAMA. It must be renewed annually.
£20 JUNIOR Membership (Under 16yrs) £30 ADULT Membership (16yrs +)
By signing the membership forms, you will then be issued with your membership book (usually you will pick this up at your first grading). It has your official grading record and acts as your
“LICENCE TO TRAIN”.
UNIFORMS
After the four or five week period, you or your child will also need a official uniform.
WHY DO I NEED THIS?
SAMA may be a large Organisation, but continues with tradition and etiquette. Everyone must wear the correct uniform at all times.
You are welcome to purchase one from us, or if you have access to your own or from somewhere else then you are free to do so. Avoid Judo suits as they are not suitable and various online companies may sell much cheaper kits but they are of poor quality. SAMA provides good quality uniforms which most children have for at least two years before growing out of them.
KARATE UNIFORMS ARE APPROX £22.00 which include the jacket, trousers, beginner belt and the red club badge.
Please see our shop for other uniforms and cost.
PLEASE NOTE that badges are to be sewn onto the LEFT BREAST of the Gi.
PRICES: PAY AS YOU GO
NO DIRECT DEBITS, NO MONTHLY COSTS, NO WORRIES.
SAMA still runs the old fashioned PAY-AS-YOU-GO system with all junior classes priced at £5 Per session (£6 Adults)
WHY NOT MONTHLY PAYMENTS?
SAMA believes that it gives out students (most of which are school children) the flexibility to fit their training around their busy lifestyles.
Pay-when they train always proves very popular with our parents as they will not be penalised for illness, injury, other commitments.
CAN I PAY IN ADVANCE?
Mostly yes, This is up to each individual Instructor. We do not always get to see certain working parents regularly, so some prefer to send in payments in advance. Speak to your own Instructor to make arrangements.
CAN I PAY BY BACS OR CARD?
Most of our Instructors now carry Card readers so yes please feel free to pay by debit or credit card. We do not accept BACS payments.
WHAT OTHER COSTS ARE THERE:
Once you have become a member and got a uniform then there are no other costs to pay for other than your weekly subs and gradings which happen throughout the year.
Please see out grading page for more info on Grading costs.
